VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has named the Villanova Wildcats as one of its 2008 Academic Squads, it was announced today. Squads that have a collective grade point average of 3.0 or greater earn the distinction of being an Academic Team. A total of 50 clubs were named in 2008.

Three individual Wildcats, defenders Laura Garrett, Nikki Bell and Justine Feinman, were included on the IWLCA's Academic Honor Roll for 2008. To qualify, student-athletes must have achieved at least junior year status and have a minimum GPA of 3.2.

"The Villanova Women's Lacrosse staff at Villanova continues to be proud of both the players' individual accomplishments as well as the collective efforts of the team itself," stated Villanova head coach Jebb Chagan. "We believe that our players' successes are measured not just on the lacrosse field but in the classroom, in the community and in life itself. It is great to witness our kids' succeed in all three areas! Go Cats!"
