Villanova Football Ranked in Preseason Poll

The Villanova Wildcats came in at No. 17 in the fifth annual pre-season AnyGivenSaturday.com (AGS) poll of the NCAA Division I Football Subdivision (FCS) released on Tuesday, May 27.
Villanova returns 33 lettermen and 17 starters from last year's squad that tallied a 7-4 overall record and a 5-3 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) mark. The Wildcats will kickoff the 2008 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 30 at West Virginia.
The Wildcats are one of six CAA teams to be ranked in the AGS top 25. James Madison is second, followed by Richmond at No. 3, Massachusetts at No. 6, Delaware at No. 11 and New Hampshire at No. 20.
Reigning National Champion Appalachian State begins the year at No. 1 after garnering 76 of a possible 81 first place votes.
